Non-Executive Director - Mr James Ignatius (Seamus) Shields

Mr James Ignatius (Seamus) Shields lives in Sixmilecross, Omagh. Since 2005, Mr Shields has been a solicitor with John McGale, Kelly and Co Solicitors, Omagh.

He was Principal of St Matthew's Primary School, Ballygawley from 1984 to 2000 and has been an elected member of Omagh District Council since 1989. He is a member of the Management Committee of the Armagh Observatory and Planetarium and a member of the board of governors of Dean Maguire College, Carrickmore.

Non-Executive Director - Professor Mary Bridget Hanratty CBE MA RGN

Professor Mary Bridget Hanratty CBE MA RGN lives in Dungannon.

Until November 2006, Prof Hanratty was Director of Nurse & Midwifery Education at the Beeches Management Centre, Belfast. Prior to this, she was Director of Nurse Education at both the Eastern and Southern Colleges of Nursing.

Prof Hanratty is currently a Board member of the Middletown Centre for Autism, Armagh. She is currently a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council's Fitness to Practice panel and was formerly Vice President of the UK Central Council for Nurses and of the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

She is currently a member of the Trust's Audit Committee and the Remuneration Committee

She has not engaged in any political activity in the last five years.

Non-Executive Director - Mr Frank Hughes

Mr Frank Hughes was appointed as a Non-Executive Director in December 2001.

Mr Hughes has 27 years experience in a voluntary capacity in the Health and Personal Social Services. He previously served as Chairman of the Western Health and Social Services Council. Mr Hughes is a retired Head Teacher.

He is currently a member of the Trust's Clinical Governance Committee.

Non-Executive Director - Mr Seamus Mullan

Mr Seamus Mullan was appointed as a Non-Executive Director in July 2002.

Mr Mullan is the sole proprietor of SH Mullan, Chartered Accountants, Dungiven. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has previously held senior financial positions within Foyle HSS Trust, Heron Chemists Ltd and KPMG.

Mr Mullan is currently a member of the Trust's Audit Committee.

From June 2008, Mr Mullan is the interim Chair of the Trust's Audit Committee. This will be reviewed on the appointment of the new Chairman (October 2008).

Non-Executive Director - Mr Norman Harrison McKinley BSc (Hons)

Mr Norman Harrison McKinley BSc (Hons), lives in Belfast. A social worker, by profession, since 2002 Mr McKinley has been employed in a number of posts by the British Red Cross; where he is currently Director, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man.

He was formerly Chairman of the board of Shalom Care and UK Trustee of the Family Fund. He holds a Masters in both Social Work and in Business Administration. (photo to follow)
