Medical Director - Doctor David McManus

Dr David McManus was appointed as Medical Director in September 1998.

Dr McManus advises the Trust Board on clinical matters and clinical governance. He also reviews and develops operational procedures and clinical protocols. He is responsible for Clinical Governance, Risk Management and Emergency Planning arrangements within the Trust. He liaises with the other Ambulance Services through his membership of the UK Ambulance Services Directors of Clinical Care Group and the Joint Royal Colleges Ambulance Liaison Committee. He advises regarding the clinical aspects of complaints and is involved with Quality Assurance, Training and Research.

Dr McManus holds the following qualifications:

Bachelor of Medicine
Bachelor of Surgery
Bachelor of Obstetrics
Diploma of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists London
Diploma in Immediate Medical Care Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh
Membership of Royal College of General Practitioners London

Dr McManus is a practising General Practitioner and is very experienced in Accident and Emergency medicine. He remains active in the provision of pre-hospital emergency care.
